Area Description

Endless are the emotions resulting from its archeologic sites and monuments built even before the dawn of religions.

The Great Cupola by Michelangelo will always watch over the origins of man-made History, the values of Christianity and the artistic masterworks, priceless products of human sensitivity.

From the Basilica of Saint Peter one can see, looking north, the hill of Monte Mario. On top of the Mount the powerful lens of the Astronomic Observatory peer at the rest of the Universe.

The hill side is little more than one mile long. Piazza della Balduina and the “Rocca Prudenzio” fountain are located right in the heart of this hill. A pleasant walk separates them from the Vatican Museums and Walls.

Piazza della Balduina offers an infinite choice of transport systems, taxi, metro or bus, to reach in a few minutes the bridge of Castel Sant’Angelo or Fontana di Trevi, the steps of Piazza di Spagna or Piazza Navona. In other words any of the wonderful sites and squares in the Historic Centre of Rome.

From here the Eternal City is open to your imagination.

A car is not necessary
One can get to the gate entrance to the house going up 9 romantic steps from Piazza della Balduina.

Piazza della Balduina is located in the Vatican district. From the square one can get a bus (any # 907, 913, 991 or 99) or a cheap taxi (5 minutes drive or less) and reach Piazza St. Peter/Vatican museums. The same distance can also be covered by walking 25/30 minutes.

From the Vatican Museums one can take the subway at the strategic station called “Cipro-Musei Vaticani”. In fact, along the “A” line are distributed the pedestrian areas of the most beautiful squares and monuments of Rome (Empire and Renaissance).
