Property Details
Self catering guest house in private villa, with swimming pool, looking the panoramic view on to the lake. Large garden, in the exclusive residential area just a few steps away from the historical centre with the railway station (local line to Rome), the castle and his park, and the lake. Quiet and independent, ideal for relaxing holiday, for romantic couple, for a family with children (welcome free of charge), for people who need to stay short/long lets in the nearby of Rome. Completely furnished, kitchen area full equipped, bathroom, linen with change and cleaning service one's a week, TV satellite, pizza oven and brick barbecue in the garden, parking, cot, hair dryer, iron with ironing board. The owners, who live in the main villa, speak English and are available to help and advice.
Accomodation and facilities:
Open space room of 30 mq., with bed corner (king size or 2 single beds) closed by havey curtains or, if you prefer, looking the lake. Sofa king size bed in the living area. Bathroom with large shower cabin, kitchen corner sits for 4. Central independent gas heating. Outside: Oven ideal for pizzas and brick barbecue under the patio where enjoy open air meals (sitting for 6) looking the view.
Connection: the Cottage is situated 40 km North of Rome and you can get there easily both with your own car and with pubblic transport (bus and train).
Nearest international airport: Leonardo da Vinci – Fiumicino at 52 km.
Nearest mediterranean beach: 15 km (Cerveteri)
Nearest railway station: 400 meters with line to Rome (and Viterbo) every 30 mins. Train with many stops inside Rome (40 mins to St.Peter's Basilica) and collection with buses and underground. Ticket: 6 euro round trip included all the public transports from Bracciano and inside Rome.
Nearest motorway junction: 15 km (Cerveteri)
Nearest harbor: 40 km. (Civitavecchia)
Suitability: children welcome free of charge, long term renters welcome, smokers welcome, pets welcome.
Sports: sailing, windsurf, canoa, swimming (the lake is forbidden to the motors), cycling, walking, horse riding, golf.

The cottage is situated in the Regional Park of the Lakes of Bracciano and Martignano, the most unknown beautiful area closest to Rome, still outside of the crowdy tourism. Within the protected area there are various centres principally rural, that with their gastronomic and village traditions make this an ideal place to stay for a while. The lake is vorbidden to the motors, and the water is very clear (the water reserve of Rome's aqueduct). The town of Bracciano count 14.000 inhabitans, is 280 m. above sea level, in a deligthful location with his historical medieval centre and the majestic Orsini - Odescalchi Castle, some belvedere …

At 1 km from the Cottage you can visit the Botanical Gardens of S. Liberato (by Russel Page). http://www.sanliberato.it/first.htm
We can also recommend a boat trip on the lake with stops by the other two delighful villages: Anguillara and Trevignano. The visit to the Aeronautical historical Museum http://www.aeronautica.difesa.it/MuseoStorico/ and the Castle of Bracciano http://www.odescalchi.it, which is privately owned, but open to the public for guided tours.
Archaeology: There are numerous Etruscan excavations of this misterious civilisation disappeared during the Roman emperor: you can visit that by Tarquinia, Cerveteri, Barbarano, Veio, to name but a few, all within easy distance, and of course in ROME.
In the nearby: The Farnese Palace at Caprarola (jowel of Renaissance), the Cathedral at Orvieto, the artistic-village of Calcata, Oriolo Romano with its portrait-gallery of all the popes in the Altieri Palace, Viterbo with its beautiful medieval centre and the Papal Palace, the lovely old villages glued to the mountains, and of course, ROME!

Nature: You can spend a day at the beautiful Mediterranean beach at only 15 km. (Cerveteri), visit the forest reserves of Canale Monterano and Manziana, with its little geysers of sulphurous water. In the nearby you can spend a day by the thermal centre of Stigliano and Viterbo (sulphurous water at 37 degrees)Transport

The railway station (line Rome/Viterbo) is just a few steps away from the cottage, with modern trains to every 30 minutes (to S.Peter and the Vatican Museums or to Trastevere in 40/45 minutes).
Public bus service to Rome (45 minutes) and the hinterland.
Ciampino Airport by train or car (one hour). Rome by car (40 minutes).
